Which fondant tastes best




















One item to note: Duff is Fondarific, just re-labeled. You can see it on Fondarific's website I love Fondarific - very easy to work with! I did not know that. Thanks so much for the info!!! I will have to add a note to the Fondarific section. Fondarific is amazing to work with, Duff's NOT at all lol. Been using Satin Ice for a while. I find that a little crisco rubbed on the fondant before draping eliminates the "elephant skin". Also I knead a bit of crisco into fondant and that works great.

Made 14 individual 2 layer 6inch table cakes and a 2 tier 4 layer bridal cake and they were perfect. No cracks or sags. Hope this helps. Have you tried it? Do you like it? I have used their tools, but never the fondant. Is it any good? I have no idea- I've never tried it. What I know is that it's made by the same manufacturer that used to make the Bakery Crafts fondant, and I was told it was good, but that's all I know. I had been using the Hobby Lobby fondant that comes in 5lb tubs, and had been happy with it. After I decided to stop patronizing then over false advertising of sale prices, I ended up buying a small tub from somewhere else Walmart? ALSO, irritatingly so, I cannot remember what the brand was, only that they sold it as "Buttercream Fondant", and the printing on the tub was blue Why am I telling you this?

Because it was terrible. The taste was not so bad, but it didn't taste like buttercream to me. People trying to take bites of cake with a fork would end up tipping the entire top up when they stuck the fork in it was so tough UncaChazzy, Was it the Walmart brand of fondant. For good-tasting home-made fondant, you can't beat Michele Foster's Fondant in any of its versions all of which are in the recipe section here.

I haven't tasted them all but what I can tell you is Satin Ice the non red and black tastes good, fondarific tastes better but I find too soft to work with unless I'm in a very cold room. I like Marshmallow Fondant and the chocolate mmf is great. I make it using chocolate marshmallows. I've been looking to buy ready made fondant and so far have only found the Wilton brand one I absolutely detest MMF. I made three batches last week. I don't know what it is, but that stuff is not fondant.

I love the buttercream flavor SatinIce. I like Michele Foster's fondant, but I always have a hard time workin with it. I follow the recipe to the T but I feel it comes out very stiff and it's a struggle to roll. So, on my last cake I used Satin Ice and it was a breeze to use!!

I live where it's humid, too, and I almost always have to do this to my fondant to make it work, no matter what kind I use. Made it twice now, followed the recipe exactly as stated and did not have any problems. This fondant is soooo good. I just made it this weekend, and every one of my guests ate the fondant and was asking for more of it.

First time I've been to a party where I saw all the guests eat the fondant I like Rhonda's MMF recipe on here. It works perfect for me everytime and tastes great. Hi Hayley, I agree. The flavour of fondant is never that exciting.
