Where is b traits from

Our lunchtime interview is a break from her task of hand-stamping purple smiley faces onto limited purple vinyl editions of her new single on-brand with her trademark purple hair.

Four hours after we finish, she Instagrams a picture of her still slogging away, surrounded by records on an appropriately purple floor. The explanation for that turns out to be the speed with which B. Traits found herself courted by big beasts from Polydor to Radio 1. The problem?

Meanwhile, she had ended up on something of a fast track at Radio 1: an initial invitation to host the pilot of the In New DJs We Trust show turned into hosting it every month despite her lack of broadcast experience. As a result of these opportunities — and the steep learning curve involved — her own production was forced to take a back seat; only this year, with a like-minded production team and enough experience of her own, has she had the time to refocus on music-making.

When B. I kept looking for more and more of it. The B. Traits story could have ended there: by her early 20s, she had a long-term boyfriend, a dog, a house, a day job and regular DJ gigs.

Her latest project, an event series titled Paciphonic, explores a combination of ambient and minimalist music, sound and frequency activations, and group meditation. She aims to effectively bridge the gap between what she does musically already as a selector, producer, curator, and presenter, and combine it with her knowledge and practice in self-development and life balance. Through Paciphonic, she hopes to build an inclusive community, to collectively enhance and improve our well-being.

A skilled producer, DJ, curator and presenter. You should certainly expect the unexpected where B. Traits for a name more androgynous to navigate the jungle scene. Check out her picks below. I dig it.

Consistently releasing quality music since I first discovered him when I was just beginning my journey into music. The most recent addition to the Baby T playlist. Tracks still in heavy rotation in many of the crews DJ sets, so rather than hogging them, they put together this Bandcamp exclusive release.

Psychedelism meets introspection. A beautiful, peaceful album to appreciate from start to finish for a moment of calm. Want more? Copyright Thrust Publishing Ltd. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www. Selections: B.
