Who is abigail ahern

Born and raised in London, England, Ahern showed signs of her interior design destiny since she was a little girl. Searching for extraordinary pieces and accessories to tantalize and delight spaces with, Ahern began to travel the world and says she noticed a lack of interesting, distinctive items in many design stores.

We have a confident, curious eye, coupled with the ability to bring seemingly disparate elements together, which offers exciting options for clients who want to live distinctly. We juxtapose shag carpets with mirrored surfaces and sit Philippe Starck next to Rococo.

We make magic by using dark inky palettes for backgrounds and then offset with doses of high-voltage colour. Our aim is to create a feeling of squishy luxurious contentment that envelopes anyone entering one of our spaces. In , the Abigail Ahern own-label collection was launched. With over pieces in the range, the Abigail Ahern collection is a definitive statement of Abigail's inimitable style, available to retailers for the first time.

Each seasonal collection encompasses furniture, lighting, accessories, textiles, art, sculpture and the world-famous Abigail Ahern faux flowers and plants. As well as the Abigail Ahern London store, the Abigail Ahern collection is now stocked by luxury boutiques around the world, including Selfridge's, Heal's and Terrain.

I found the leather chair in France years ago and my dog has eaten off the whole arm, hence the throw over the corner of it, which literally hides the straw coming out. The coffee table is a prototype and not yet in production. It's covered in a cashmere mohair blend and the colour inspired the paint colour on the kitchen cabinetry — a burnt toffee.

One Christmas around 10 years ago, my sister and I both bought each other the very same present - this penguin lamp from an artisan. Gem and I have a similar eye and she's a partner in the biz, so we constantly buy each other the same thing. From its streamlined appearance to the inky burnt caramel colour on the cabinets, it rocks an earthy vibe which I love. So many people including the decorators were shocked with the colour choice but its so incredibly restorative, grounding and calming and I totally love it.

We manufacture paint so nailing an earthy colour was key - it took ages to achieve the right tone but its so worked. I have a vintage rug on the floor and then a heap of pots all of which are samples for our next collections on my console.

I constantly play around with samples; we have so much in production that I am forever switching things up and moving them around. They're intended to be used outside but I love the texture. I then accessorised with plants and rugs. The walls are all plastered with Tadelakt, a Moroccan waterproof plaster.
