How do people view grendel

The gruesome imagery used by Paul can be extended to symbolize how war demoralizes humans. This is shown through many occasions in the novel as soldiers of war start objectifying women, stealing syrup from the factory and most terrifying, torturing other human beings, as shown through the firebombing of Dresden.

Polyphemus ignores the gods and is a terrible host. All characterization reveals him as a savage monster, but he does have a soft side.

Polyphemus tends a massive herd and has the capacity to attend their needs. An example of this message in the poem is when the villagers are chasing the monster with cudgels and rakes because he is ugly. This event shows that the villagers do not know the monster well, which makes them ignorant. However, Simon appears for his decision of sharing his discovery about the beast at this time, and this is absolutely inopportune.

When cattle carts people would throw bread inside it to watch them fight to the death. Since people wanted to eat so bad they became inhumane and fought each other for one little piece. Elie witnesses as an old man takes bread and gets strangled to death by his own son. Grendel felt threaten by the animal therefore he had to kill the goat.

The animals bother Grendel a load of times. When Grendel is battling Beowulf he thinks that he can escape and that he is no match for Beowulf. The ogre is vulnerable because Beowulf uses no weapons, and the hero has the strength of 30 men in his grip. Beowulf rips the monster's arm from its shoulder.
